ROLEPLAY GUIDELINES
The following rules and policies are required knowledge for everyone who wishes to post in this forum. These rules apply universally to every roleplay post in every thread and violating them may subject you to Moderator action. Please read them carefully and understand them well before posting.

Read and Obey the Forum Rules
The forum rules apply to everyone posting in any board or forum. Moderators have the authority to enforce these rules and will take direct action against violators. Rule infractions should be reported to staff for appropriate action.

No One Line Replies
This is not meant to annoy you but to give the other person something to work with. There is no official post length requirement other then this. The exact length of your post during a role play is either up to those who are taking part or the person who created the thread.

Stay In Character
If you have a question or disagreement with the participants of a your roleplay then post a comment on the Script and Plotting board. Don't add out of character comments to an in game thread. Remember every time you do that, the admins/moderators have to take the time to delete them all.

Romance Is Good
When it comes to gameplay, romance is encouraged. As it adds a unique dynamic to the roleplay. However try to keep the certain aspects of romance in the bedroom and out of the roleplay itself. We don't want in depth detail about how two lovers spent the night together.

(NPC): Non Player Characters
All non-player characters in any roleplay will be under the control of the person who first introduced them into the role play, as well as anyone they specifically give permission to control them.

Originality Please
Be original when adding content to the forum. This means we don't want canons of anything. Stereotypes are fine but don't use that as an excuse to make a parallel of something someone else has already made.

Characters (No Limit)(No God-Modding)
Members are aloud to have have as many characters as they can handle. There is little to no limit on what you can be. Your characters can be anything within reason. Meaning you can't have some sort of all powerful god character that is invincible and can never be defeated. All characters must have flaws and weaknesses. However each character needs its own separate account. This isn't meant to annoy you, but make it easier on staff to keep track of characters.

CHARACTER INTERACTIONS AND COMBAT
If you've never done this or any online roleplaying before, you may want to view the forums and examine how other writers are interacting with each other. It's fairly simple once you get the hang of it. Playing is done by writing your character's actions and responding to what other characters are doing. You can only respond to people's actions and play your character. You can't write for other people or control their characters (that's called cheating, or autoing). Perma-death is possible, but you can't kill someones character unless they agree or a staff member OK's it. The later being a very rare occurrence.

Combat is not the primary goal of writing here, its the creation of a story. So if your character is in a fight, it is in your best interest to do a few things:

[1] Do not assume your attacks on other characters will hit them.

[2] It may help to talk to and decide with your opponent ahead of time what you want to happen.

[3] Do not come up with powers, technology and items you need out of nowhere.

[4] Do not try to play with your powers and bend what's written in your profile to help you gain an advantage.

[5] Trying to be too powerful in general is called god-modding. Don't do it. Nobody will want to play with you and the staff will get on your case. The less powerful you are, the less of a godmodder you are and the easier it is for everyone involved. Remember not everyone can be a super genetically modified half alien badass.

[6] Let people hit you. You must let people hit you sometimes. What kind of book would you write where your main hero never takes a beating or never gets hit by anything? One that we don't want to read or partake in.

[7] If you are comfortable with the people you are writing with, you may wish to come to an agreement with them to allow auto-hits. This means that "you can hit me if I can hit you" and can make everything much easier. Do this only if you're mature enough to be able to compromise for good writing and only if you have gotten to know the other person. If it causes a problem: take your losses, call it off, and don't cause a scene.

[8] You cannot kill another player's character without having permission to do it, or unless a staff member says you can. (Which will be an extremely rare occasion for a staff member to do that).

REMEMBER
Fairness is always the best policy :v)
